Mindfulness:
What is mindfulness? A buzzword of current times, this increasingly popular practice embraces the idea of a simple form of meditation to help to focus thoughts on the present moment, whilst also helping to disperse any struggles associated with those thoughts. It has been shown to have many benefits, including to mood, and performance, and can be practiced even at work, in a quiet 5 minutes if time is of the essence. Sometimes all you need when that bleep goes off again, or that phone rings again, is a few deep breaths...It's worth having a go...
There are books, apps, videos, courses, workshops, and we will bring you some recommended resources here.

Something different:
First there was Hygge in 2016 from Denmark (meaning cosiness, and derived from the Norwegian word for "wellbeing")..go on, grab a blanket, and a warm cuppa, light a candle, and grab a book-perhaps The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking, and chill out..

Then there was Lagom in 2017 from Sweden (meaning just the right amount-and we don't mean in your shopping trolley at Ikea..). Encouraging us to apply not too much and not too little to everything we do to create balance and contentment. Try reading Lagom, the Swedish secret of living well by Lola A. Akerstrom

Now there's Sisu, the latest Scandinavian outdoor lifestyle craze from Finland, just declared as the happiest country on Earth by the UN! Doing something for charity:
Why not do an activity and raise money for charity at the same time? It's a great way to keep motivated (especially if it's exercise based!)
Cooking a new recipe or baking a treat:
The pleasures of pausing to do this and eat it at the end are self-explanatory!
